The platform bundles 12+ open source data tools (Trino, Kafka, HBase, Superset, ...) on Kubernetes. Today everything is Infrastructure-as-Code, deployed and configured declaratively. That works great for the infra crowd but not everyone wants to write YAML. Your job is to make the platform accessible to more people and add value that only a UI can provide.
Most of the bundled tools have their own web interfaces but nothing ties them together. Some important things have no UI at all: querying Trino, managing permissions, uploading files to S3, browsing HBase tables. On top of the product UI, we also have an internal portal and a customer portal that both need work. Three products, one owner: You.
- Play around with our stack, put yourself in our customers' shoes and figure out what would actually help them. Then build it.
- Design and build web applications (bonus points if you can handle the backend bits too)
- Work with the product team on scoping requirements and dependencies
- Talk to customers about what they actually need
- Have opinions about our products and share them
